When The Kidlets Are Sick
Isn’t it just like a mom to feel bad for her kids when they suffer in any way? From the heartache of not being invited to a birthday party, to the pain of skinning their knee, I always wish I could take the pain for them and somehow spare them.
Given that then, it really must seem odd to my 6 and 8 year olds that, when they are sick and hacking and sneezing I tend to not get too close too long. Don’t get me wrong, I do hug them a lot and there are lots of late night cuddles BUT, I do find myself thinking that a quick hug might be better than a lingering one - lest I catch that horrible cold/cough/fever that they are struggling through. Makes me wonder if I’m the only mom who has that thought…
