What in the world is a Lemony Snicket?
When my son was 6 years old he was didn’t have a huge interest in reading. I spent a lot of time reading to him aloud since he is homeschooled, but I figured out that a lot of what I was reading just didn’t suit his interests… and I wasn’t excited about reading about soccer!
I discovered the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket quite by accident. My son fell in love with the story line and before I knew it we had read most of the series (author Daniel Handler just finished the final book in the series), and he was excited about reading. Fast forward 2 years and the kid has his nose in a book for at least an hour or two a day. This, as the saying goes, is a good thing.
