My Mom Is Depressing

Alpine Village Family August 11th, 2008

I think sometimes she needs to have a blood pressure monitor permanently attached to her arm. It seems that no matter what happens to her she is pretty sure it’s the end of the world. She won’t say it but she’ll imply it - very odd. It tmakes me feel bad but the truth is that I dread phoning her because she’ll tell me every negative thing about my life too. I hang up needing a drink or a trip to a therapist… sigh…

Am I Crazy To Get Blue Furniture?

Alpine Village Family August 10th, 2008

I think I’m going to go for the blue furniture that I found on sale at The Brick. The only thing holding me back is whether or not I’m crazy to go with a trendy colour of furniture. Will I come to hate that blue in a year or two? I don’t think so but what if I do? Is it on sale enough to make the decision okay if I want to buy new in a couple years? Hmm… I think I’ll go visit it again tomorrow and see if I still love it.

Do Computer Repair Guys Snoop?

Alpine Village Family August 10th, 2008

I had to send in my laptop and it had me scanning my memory to try to remember whether I had anything stored on their that might be embarassing to have someone else see. No, not anything terribly scandalous LOL. Just maybe photos where I’m not looking my best or even a journal that might still be around somehow - even though I delelted it. I just wonder if they have time to snoop through to look for embarassing stuff… hmmm…

I Hate Bell Satellite TV

Alpine Village Family August 10th, 2008

When I moved I decided to bundle everything with Bell. This seemed to make sense at the time because the sales guy on the phone told me that when everything goes digital in the new year, cable wouldn’t be as good as satellite. But, he lied AND Bell’s satellite isn’t even remotely as good as Rogers cable was. Gosh I miss it :(

I had had a good experience with satellite way back when so I know that it can be good - and those with satellite may think I’m crazy to not be happy with what I have but I swear it is a pain! Every time it rains I lose my signal - grrr…

I’m Almost Done Unpacking

Alpine Village Family August 1st, 2008

Well, with a move and then some surgery, I’ve not been able to unpack as quickly as I’d have liked to. BUT today, armed with my trusty box knife, I set about unpacking and actually got quite a bit done :) . Tomorrow we are tackling the rest of the boxes and hopefully, we’ll even get out to order some furniture for the livingroom! Oh… dare to dream LOL!

Massage therapy… no thanks.

Alpine Village Family July 26th, 2008

I heard today that one of our neighbours’ kids is looking into massage therapy schools for next year. I have to admit that I really don’t get the desire to rub strangers for a living. Not to offend or anything. I know it’s not dirty but, whether its theraputic or not, it’s still a job that would require one to be intimate with people we might rather not see mostly naked, let alone rub slowly while they are mostly naked. Yah, I really don’t get it…

Today at work

Alpine Village Family June 27th, 2008

Today at work i had to write about life insurance and Heather said that I should focus on our next launch that involves a whole host of things. I was getting sleepy and I needed to have a coffee to stay awake. So I decided to have a bunch of chocolate And that only worked for a lilttle while and then I fell asleep. But all is well now. Thanks :)

I want cats - lots of them!

Alpine Village Family June 24th, 2008

I love cats and if I could, I’d have 6 of them. I’d love them all equally, loving the first as much as the sixth, and I think I’d even be tempted to let them sleep on my bed :D . Of course I’d not actually do that because my bed would end up filled with cat fur BUT I know I’d want to :D . So, all that said, if you are a cat person, you totally understand where I’m coming from. And, if you are a dog person, you think I’m nuts LOL!!

Learning how to do the guy-stuff.

Alpine Village Family June 14th, 2008

I have to set up my house this week. Funny it’s occurring me that I have a whole other side of things to learn. Without hubby to just do all the “man things”, I have to recognize first what they are and second, I have to learn how to do them LOL!! That will be tricky with the electronics because I don’t know video cards from Christmas cards BUT I’ll figure this out ;) . I’m thinking of it as a challenge and I feel pretty good that I’ll come out of it just fine. Thank goodness for the internet and Google - I’ll just Google whatever I need to know and voila, my answer will appear :) Phew!

Is it nap-time yet??

Alpine Village Family June 7th, 2008

Hmmm… let me check my watch and see… nope it’s not nap-time, but man do I ever wish it was LOL! Have you ever had that happen when you are exhausted but the kids are still FULL of energy? That’s what’s happening to me right now. The kids have just finished a swim in the hottub and now their dad said that they can watch a movie! …yawn… He may have to put them to bed too ;)
